Planning the Big Ice Fishing Trip

Every group of fishing buddies seems to have that one trip they look forward to all year.

For us, it's basically the Super Bowl of ice fishing.

But putting together a great trip takes some work. You need to coordinate schedules, figure out where you're going, and make sure everyone has similar expectations.

One of the biggest considerations is the people you're fishing with.

Some guys want to fish from sunrise until well after dark. Others are perfectly happy catching a few fish, eating a good meal, and enjoying time with friends.

Neither approach is wrong, but getting everyone on the same page before the trip makes a big difference.

We talk through our top 10 considerations and share what we've learned from planning our own fishing adventures.

Summer Fishing Catch-Up

Before we get too far into ice fishing season, we catch up on what happened over the summer.

Jeff and Jason share some fishing stories, including a few reminders that owning a boat isn't always as glamorous as it sounds.

There may even be a story involving a boat and an impressive amount of green slime.

It's been a few months since our last episode, so we've got some catching up to do.

Getting Ready for Ice Fishing Season

October means ice fishing season is getting closer.

We discuss upcoming ice fishing shows, new equipment, and some of the things we're looking forward to checking out this year.

It's the time of year when the gear starts coming out of storage, the shopping lists get longer, and everyone starts wondering when the lakes will freeze.

10 Seasons of the Hard Water Fishing Show

It's hard to believe we're starting our tenth season!

What started back in 2017 has turned into years of fishing stories, gear discussions, adventures, and conversations with people who love ice fishing as much as we do.

For Season 10, we're introducing a theme: 10 things related to a different ice fishing topic in every episode.

We've also got some special things planned as we celebrate the show's history.

Thanks to everyone who's listened, watched, shared an episode, or joined us along the way.
